Engr. Mansur Ahmed (FNES, FNIM)Group Executive Director (Dangote Group)

Engineer Ahmed is a Group Executive Director at Dangote Group, Africa’s largest conglomerate with operations in over 14 Countries and still expanding. He is also the current President of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) and the interim Chairman of the Pan-African Manufacturers Association (PAMA) As well as the Vice President of the Africa Business Council. In his capacity as the President, MAN, he provides strategic leadership as Chairman of the National Council of the Association, which represents over 3000 Nigerian Manufacturers across all sectors.

Engr. Ahmed currently serves on:

  • The Board of Trustees of the Nigerian Police Trust Fund
  • The TETFUND Standing Committee on Research & Development
  • The steering committee for the preparation of the National Development Plan 2021 – 2025 and The Nigeria Agenda 2050
  • The Board of Trustees of the African Union COVID-19 Response Fund.

For over 15 years (1988 to 2003), he served at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in various capacities including, Managing Director at both Kaduna and Port-Harcourt Refineries and subsequently as Group Executive Director in charge of Refining and Petrochemicals at the headquarter.

After Engr. Ahmed’s retirement from the NNPC, he served as Director General of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) a private sector-led think-tank focused on economic reforms and private sector development. Following his work, at the NESG, on policy reforms Engr. Ahmed was invited by the Federal Government of Nigeria to setup the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) and served as its pioneer Director General from 2008 to 2013. The ICRC is the public agency for the development of Infrastructure services through Public Private Partnership (PPP) and Concessions.

Engr. Ahmed is a fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and the Nigerian Institute of Management and a Member of the Institute of Directors Nigeria. He has served on many Boards as well as many National Committees including the National Economic Management Team, Economic Management Implementation Team, Technical Committee on Privatization, National Competitiveness Council (NCCN) and the Advisory Board of the Centre for Infrastructure Policy, Regulation and Advancement (CIPRA) of the Lagos Business School, among others. He has also served on the Board of private companies including Union Bank of Nigeria Plc., GlaxoSmithKline Plc. and Savannah Sugar Company Ltd.

Engr. Ahmed’s other interest is in basic education development. In pursuit of this interest, he has served as the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Sacred Heart Primary School, Kaduna (from 1984 to 2019).
